Campaigning for laws, policies and safety measures for children and young people

We aim to campaign for laws and policies essential for children and young people’s safeguarding in Pakistan. To ensure children and young people thrive in a healthy and safe environment, we aim to advocate for reducing inequalities, abolish discriminatory mindsets and racial social practices. We aim to have a just and fair society where children and young people can flourish and prosper. We want to share the best practices from all over the world and learn from what has worked. This includes:

  • engaging with public and private institutions in Pakistan to prevent abuse, cruelty, violence and sexual exploitation from happening, for appropriate laws for children and young people’s safeguarding
  • ensuring policies and laws are implemented
  • engaging with government and technology companies in Pakistan to place safety measures to prevent abuse online
  • campaigning to make porn, sexual, racist and abusive content illegal to post, view, share and send online
  • educating people about how to stay safe online

Ensuring children and young people stay safe includes their safety online. Social media and related apps are not a new phenomenon whereas in some countries it is such as in Pakistan. We don’t need to shun it. We need to make it safer. Through our “Embrace it for Safety” programme for being safe online, we aim to engage with government and technology companies where they are needed the most to place safety measures to prevent abuse online. Together, we will create ways to prevent abuse from happening online. This includes campaigning for making porn, sexual, racist and abusive content illegal to post, view, share and send online.

We aim to prevent people from viewing, sharing and posting abusive content online.

We also aim to keep children and young people safe by teaching them, their parents and families how to use the internet safely. We aim to find innovative ways to guide parents in simplest forms on how to use social networking apps so they can engage with their children and oversee their world for safety.

We need your support in achieving these goals. Through your support and funding, we can create ways, tools and services to prevent abuse from happening online. This includes developing prevention tools, strategies and campaigning for laws and policies for children’s safety. Through this programme, we can make children and young people aware of the potential risks of child abuse. Together with your support, we can protect children and young people from online grooming, engaging in sexual, hate, criminal, terrorist and illegal activities.

We aim to prevent people from viewing, sharing and posting abusive images and content online.  This is the best time when social media is still new in countries such as in Pakistan. We can make it a safer environment for children and young people now.
